  • Some of Rose’s achievements.
  • Founding Photographic Memory in 1997, whose name was suggested by Rose’s loving mother Mary Burpee.
  • In 1999, Rose was featured on Barnaby’s World, a regular local television segment.
  • Very special recognition came in 2000 for her work depicted on the Jones Soda bottle labels. A young infant boy, with a startled look on his face graces the bottles of Jones’ Vanilla Cola and is distributed nationally. The baby, Jonathan Tait, is the son of Tonya Van Dergeld, Grand Rapids and the grandson of Cathy Morgan and Max Morgan of Hastings.
  • In 2004, she won a national award for two of her scenic prints.
  • In 2005 to present Rose has won many national and state awards on Fine Art prints of many subjects some of which are displayed on this website.
  • In 2005 Rose Hendershot’s print Swan Lake won the coveted Loan Print award at Professional Photographers of America print competition. This is the highest print award given. The print is exhibited in many countries around the world and placed in the Loan Collection book published each year by Marathon Press. Less than 5% of all prints entered in competition are given the award of Loan.
  • In 2006 Rose was in the Top Seven Photographers in Michigan and was awarded a plaque at the Professional Photographers of Michigan convention.
  • In 2006 Rose earned the title Photographer of the Year at Michigan Triangle Professional Photographers Association annual meeting.
  • In 2007 Rose was runner up in the Photographer of the Year contest at Michigan Triangle Professional Photographers Association annual meeting.
  • In 2008 Rose was promoted to President of Michigan Professional Photographers Association!
  • Rose Hendershot wins Best of Category in print competition at Michigan Triangle Professional Photographers of Michigan for the 2nd year in a row in November 2009.
  • Rose Hendershot is President of MTPPA June 2008 through May 2009.
  • Rose Hendershot of Photographic Memory in Hastings, Michigan was awarded the Photographer of the Year at the 2007 annual meeting of Michigan Triangle Professional Photographers of Michigan. Runner up in the same competition for 2008.
  • Rose Hendershot received the highest scores on 3 of her prints in the MTPPA competition in 2010. The Majestic Mac received the Best of Category award and Best of Show award.

Sun Kissed goes LOAN in International Photographic contest. Professional Photographers of America accepted into the Loan Collection the photograph titled “Sun Kissed” by Rose Hendershot of Hastings, Michigan. The print will travel the world in special exhibitions for the next year. The first stop on the tour is the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans in January 2012. “Sun Kissed” will also appear in the Loan Collection book of 2011 published by Marathon Press. The Loan Collection of 600 photographs are selected from the best of the best (about 15 percent of all entires). “Sun Kissed” is a photograph of Leach Lake near Hastings, Michigan taken in the fall.

Surf’s up also created by Rose Hendershot was accepted into the General Collection out of 4000 photographic entries submitted by professional photographers in the United States and several other countries. The General collection contains over 200 photographs to be published in the “Showcase” book also published by Marathon Press. “Surf’s Up” will be on display in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center before returning to Hastings.
