Rose competes with other professional photographers in competitions in Michigan and beyond. This page will keep you up to date on the most recent competitions so please check back here often.
This photograph was taken on a foggy morning at dawn of the old light station at Cheboygan, Michigan and presented in black and white for the competition. This spot was quiet even though there were about 10 other people watching the sun rise over the waster of Lake Huron with Leo and I.
Rose received her Master of Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of America in New Orleans on January 17, 2012. There was a class of 78 photographers receiving degrees at the annual photographers convention.
State Competition Rose Hendershot joined with other Michigan professional photographers for the convention held in Detroit from March 18 through 22, 2011.
These two photos received blue ribbons.
With a total print score (4 prints) of 419, Rose is once again in the Top 7 Michigan Photographers!!! Rose also received her 3rd Michigan Professional Photographers Service Award for assisting with the many programs and events for PPM.
Local Competition
“Local photographer Rose Hendershot of Photographic Memory in Hastings, Michigan was awarded the highest print scores of all entries in the annual Print Competition of Michigan Triangle Professional Photographers of Michigan on November 9, 2010. The highest scoring prints in the competition were The Majestic Mac, Sun Kissed and Surfs Up. The competition was very close with less than 3 points difference between the top 6 images.” The prints will go from the local Lansing area to regional in March 2011.
The 2010 Professional Photographers of America competition was held in June and is on display in January 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. This is the largest competition with photographers from all over the world.
The 2010 regional competition was for professional photographers from Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Rose received a blue ribbon for Twi-Light, The Soloist featuring Christopher Mores from Hastings, 1937 Roadmaster Supreme and Poor Mans Choice all of which are here on this page.
Rose submits work annually to local telephone directory art directors. She has been blessed to have several of her photographs chosen for the AT&T Telephone directory for Hastings and Wayland. In 2010, Rose’s work was selected for the Yellow Book for Battle Creek and Hastings.
