Gerald R. Ford
The Boy Scouts of America celebrated their 100th anniversary on February 8, 2010. Some of the words Scouts live by are words we could all do well to live by also. Scouts are to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
Mayor Robert May attended the 100th anniversary celebration at the Gerald R. Ford Council on February 8, 2010 along with many other Mayors from the cities in which this council serves. “The Gerald R. Ford Council supports nearly 5000 volunteers who develop and enrich the lives of more than 2,000 boys and girls, ages 6 through 20 every year. The council provides volunteers a wide range of youth and adult training opportunities, including online courses, training videos, and district and council events. The council’s membership is comprised of youth and adults representing all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, physical and mental abilities and educational experiences.” Gerald R. We were given a lovely meal and program that was well attended. I hope you enjoy the photos here from Grand Rapids and later in Hastings as our Boy Scouts were honored at the Hastings City Council on February 8, 2010.
